Aging Dust/Powder

Aging dust/powder is used to create a timeworn look to your project.   It is typically applied around medallions, intricate trim, or patterned hardware.  The powder is applied in conjunction with the final coat of wax, typically "clear" wax.

How to Use:  Apply it immediately after you have applied your final coat of wax – but before the wax hardens.  Pour a little dust on paper or in a bowl.  Use a brush, dab into the powder and brush onto your piece where and as much as desired.  Then wipe off as much as necessary to create the effect you want.  The powder is “suspended” into or “sticks” in the wax and will seal into the wax as the wax fully cures.

Tip: When applying on a vertical piece, if you are careful and place a paper under your work, you can collect some of the powder that has fallen onto the paper and pour it back into the power container to use again.
