Gel Wax
Heirloom Traditions waxes are used to give painted pieces an aged or antique look. The waxes are synthetic wax formulas to protect your surfaces after you paint. Gel Wax gives you more control on your application, while the Liquid Wax is great for large surfaces. The benefits of these products are 1.) no buffing is required and 2) they are not sensitive to heat. However, in dry climates like Colorado, the open time with the product is less than a traditional bees wax formula. Therefore, we recommend having a damp towel on hand to wipe excess wax or to smooth the wax after application. Also, the painted surface should cure for 72 hours before applying the waxes. Insufficient cure time of the paint will or can cause the paint to lift off and expose the original surface with the application of the wax.
How to use: The waxes are super easy to apply with either a wax brush or a lint-free cloth. Apply lightly using a wax brush or chip brush. Unlike oil based waxes, you do not need to apply with pressure.

Spray wax will seal any unfinished surface, including raw wood. All of our spray waxes will tone, protect and enhance surface details. And just like our traditional wax, spray wax is available in 12 beautiful colors plus clear.
How to use: Based on user comments , the consensus is to spray some of the product into a bowl (e.g. a coated paper bowl), use a brush to apply the product on to your piece, and then wipe applied wax with a lint-free rag.
